NLC Warns Against Postponement of Elections

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has kicked against alleged plot to postpone the general elections this year, saying doing so would not augur well for the nation. General Secretary of the NLC Comrade Peter Ozo-Eson in a statement said the congress appreciated the security situation in the country, especially in the North East but would "stand to be counted on the side of those who argue for holding of elections on their prescribed dates." While arguing that the "dangers in the land are unmistakably real" Ozo-Eson declared that there were "greater dangers" in the postponement.
