GEJ to Nigerians-You would praise me when I leave office

President Jonathan says Nigerians will praise and appreciate him more when he leaves office. He said all the criticisms he has received from Nigerians so far is expected of any serving leader. He said it's only when leaders leave office that people will begin to see and appreciate their good works.

Pres. Jonathan made this remark while receiving the state Governor Dickson Seriake and traditional rulers from Bayelsa state at the Presidential villa in Abuja today December 30th
"I always say that I will not even expect praises now because hardly do people praise serving leaders. It is when you leave, people will begin to know. When you leave, people will begin to compare what you have done over the period vis-a-vis what others have done, then they will compare you with whoever takes over.
Probably that is the time some people will begin to say good about you. But I will do my best to make sure that we do change things. We are trying to create enabling environment for our economy to thrive irrespective of the challenges we are having in the petroleum sector and the security challenges we have. I will do my best so that by the time I will leave, you will be able to say that when our son was there, he served the country well so that one day, another son of Bayelsa may be given another opportunity to serve Nigerians", he said.

North Korea blasts U.S over release of ‘The Interview’, calls Obama a monkey

Capture
North Korea called President Barack Obama “a monkey” and blamed the U.S. on Saturday for shutting down its Internet amid the hacking row over the comedy “The Interview.”
North Korea has denied involvement in a crippling cyberattack on Sony Pictures but has expressed fury over the comedy depicting an assassination of its leader Kim Jong Un. After Sony Pictures initially called off the release in a decision criticized by Obama, the movie has opened this week.
On Saturday, the North’s powerful National Defense Commission, the country’s top governing body led by Kim, said that Obama was behind the release of “The Interview.” It described the movie as illegal, dishonest and reactionary.
“Obama always goes reckless in words and deeds like a monkey in a tropical forest,” an unidentified spokesman at the commission’s Policy Department said in a statement carried by the official Korean Central News Agency.
“If the U.S. is to persistently insist that the hacking attack was made by the DPRK, the U.S. should produce evidence without fail, though belatedly,” the statement publish by KCNA said.
He also accused Washington for intermittent outages of North Korea websites this week, after the U.S. had promised to respond to the Sony hack.
There was no immediate reaction from the White House on Saturday.
According to the North Korea commission’s spokesman, “the U.S., a big country, started disturbing the Internet operation of major media of the DPRK, not knowing shame like children playing a tag.”
The commission said the movie was the results of a hostile U.S. policy toward North Korea, and threatened the U.S. with unspecified consequences.
North Korea and the U.S. remain technically in a state of war because the 1950-53 Korean War ended with an armistice, not a peace treaty. The rivals also are locked in an international standoff over the North’s nuclear and missile programs and its alleged human rights abuses. The U.S. stations about 28,500 troops in South Korea as deterrence against North Korean aggression.

The 20-year-old boy, Malam Kamisu Baranda who was arrested by the village head and handed over to the police after asking the goat to have s*x with him.

Kamisu who seem to enjoy having s*x with animals made a shocking revelation that the animals satisfy his s*xual desire hence his reason for not being into women and making love to any woman in his area.

AGN President Ibinabo Fiberisima seen dancing with actor Mr Ibu at her wedding last Thursday in Port Harcourt. The two have obviously made up after blasting each other in interviews over Ibinabo’s re-election as AGN president. Mr Ibu had said at the time that Ibinabo wasn’t fit to be president. Photos of Jordanian F-16 pilot captured in Syria by ISIS

Here's a sad photo of Jordanian pilot who was captured by
ISIS militants after his warplane was shot down while he
was conducting airstrikes over Syria. ISIS shared photos of
his capture on Twitter
Jordanian Information Minister Mohammad Momani told AP
that First Lieutenant Mu'ath Safi Yousef al-Kaseasbeh's
plane was shot down by 'ground fire'. This is the first time a
foreign soldier will fall into ISIS hand since the U.S-led
coalition began its air campaign against the extremists.
The 27 year old pilot is said to be from a prominent
Jordanian family. His family said Mu'ath felt it was a
religious duty to fight ISIS because they were 'distorting the
true spirit of Islam'. His family has publicly begged for
mercy, asking ISIS to release him but that's probably not
going to happen..

2015: Kaduna Muslims, Christians vow to resist violence

KADUNA–Christians and Muslims in Kaduna State
yesterday vowed to resist any attempt to introduce violence
in the 2015 general elections.
The Muslims, under the aegis of the Jama’atu Nasril Islam,
JNI, and the Christians Association of Nigeria, CAN, in the
state also pledged that anybody or group of persons
planning to engage in violence or harbouring anyone or
persons with violent intent during the general elections
would be fished out and handed over to security agents.
The groups, which came together under the auspices of the
Global Peace Foundation in the country, agreed that the
2011 political violence, which led to the death of scores of
persons and destruction of property worth billions of Naira
was the last such hostilities in the state.
In her address on the occasion, the wife of Kaduna State
governor, Hajiya Fatima Yero said, “All mothers must
ensure that they teach their children the virtues of love,
tolerance and respect for the dignity of the other person.
“With the vows you have all taken today to resist violence in
the coming elections, I believe that we shall have a peaceful
Christmas. We shall build on it for an enduring peace in
Kaduna State.”
The Special Adviser to Governor Yero on Christian matters,
Rev. Joseph Hayab on his part, said both the rich and poor
suffer during conflicts.
Said Hayab: “The rich and powerful and the poor are denied
sleep during crisis, all for reasons that can be avoided,
because in the end, no one benefits”.
Also Speaking, the Special Adviser to Yero on Islamic
Affairs, Sheik Haliru Maraya said: “Anytime their was
violence, and government property was destroyed, the
money that would have been used for other developmental
projects would be used in repairing them. And we keep
wondering why we are not progressing. Islam teaches
peace and tolerance to all religions as shown in the
exemplary life of the Holy Prophet of Islam.
“We must stand together during this election and say, no to
violence.”
The Secretary of CAN, Kaduna State, Rev. Sunday Ibrahim,
also said all Christains were out for peace.

A packed Kano State High Court, yesterday, heard testimony that a 14-year-old girl admitted to killing her 35-year-old husband with rat poison, and signed a police confession with a thumbprint because she cannot write.

The girl, from a poor and conservative Muslim family, has
been charged with murdering her husband, Umar Sani, days
after their marriage in Kano State.
Because she does not understand English, homicide
investigator Abdullahi Adamu translated her statement from
the Hausa language.
She could not write her name, so “she had to use a
thumbprint,” he told the court, during his testimony on the
last day of the prosecution’s case.
Co-wife’s story
The state’s lawyers, who are seeking the death penalty,
also called to the stand Tasi’u’s co-wife, identified as
Ramatu.
Ramatu said she got along well with Tasi’u and that the two
had prepared the food together on April 5, the day Sani died.
She testified that because it was Tasi’u’s turn to share bed
with Sani, Tasi’u was also entitled to serve his meal.
“After putting the food in the dish, I did not see anybody put
anything in it,” Ramatu said.
She said later her husband was helped back to the house by
a neighbour, unable to walk and foaming at the mouth.
The court overflowed, with crowd spilling out of the gallery
door and people peering in through the open windows.
The case has sparked outrage among human rights
activists, who say Nigeria should be treating Tasi’u as a
victim, noting the possibility that she was raped by the man
she married.
Sharia
However, others in the region, including relatives of the
defendant and the deceased, have rejected the notion that
Tasi’u was forced into marriage.
They have said that 14 is a common age to marry and that
Tasi’u chose Sani from among many suitors.
A motion by defence lawyers to have the case moved to
juvenile court was rejected, despite claims by human rights
lawyers that she was too young to stand trial for murder in
a high court.
Further complicating the case is the role of Sharia, which
allows children to marry according to some interpretations.
While sharia is technically in force in Kano, law enforcement
officials have no guidelines concerning how it should be
balanced with the secular criminal codes, creating a
complex legal hybrid system.
According to Human Rights Watch, Nigeria is not known to
have executed a juvenile offender since 1997.
The trial has been adjourned until February 16, 2015.

North Korea's internet is down. You go, USA!

If you've been following the Sony, North Korea and the US
government saga then you should know what this is about.
But let me give a brief summary because I'm about to board
a flight.
Sony Pictures released a movie called The Interview, a
comedy about a fictional assassination of North Korean
leader, Kim Jong Un.. North Korean didn't find it funny and
hacked into Sony's computers, rendering thousands of
computers inoperable and forced Sony to take its entire
computer network offline. That wasn't enough, they then
threatened terror attack on US citizens if Sony doesn't
cancel showing the movie, forcing Sony to pull the interview
from theaters and losing almost $200m. Then the US govt
got involved and told Sony to go ahead and release the
movie, that they don't take lightly to threats and promised to
retaliate for the attack on Sony. It looks like they've kept
their to promise. North Korea is currently offline. Lol
"Internet connectivity between North Korea and the outside
world is currently suffering one of its worst outages in
recent memory, suggesting that the country may be
enduring a mass cyber attack a few days after President
Obama warned the US would launch a "proportional
response" to North Korea's hack against Sony
North Korea, which has four official networks connecting
the country to the Internet -- all of which route through
China -- began experiencing intermittent problems
yesterday and today went completely black, according to
Doug Madory, director of Internet analysis at Dyn Research
in Hanover, New Hampshire." Bloomberg reports.
I find this so hilarious! Moral of the story, don't mess with
the US. Will be MIA for a few hours... traveling out of the
country. See you guys soon!
