Late Ooni of Ife's wives banned from re-wedding again

As indicated by a Palace Chief who talked namelessly, the wives of the late Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade, the Olubuse II, by convention can't re-wed as its illegal, they must be acquired by the new Ooni. This request was recommended by the Ife custom since the Ooni is not viewed as dead but rather to have traveled to a higher domain.
The standard is general and applies to all Ooni that has gone on and not particular to the wives of Oba Sijuwade, the quick past Ooni. There may not be an obviously characterized repercussion against the custom yet it is fitting that the request is obeyed at all times and for all eras. As well as can be expected happen to the Oloris abandoned by any late Ooni is for them to stay single or be acquired by the ruling Ooni. Whether the wives are youthful or old does not make a difference, what is important is that the custom must be managed in the general enthusiasm of the general public." the source said
