MTN introduces 'Better Me' package

Starting the year 2015 on a good note, service provider, MTN has introduced a one-stop package, 'Better Me' for its customers. The 'Better Me' campaign was launched on Tuesday, January 7 at a press briefing held at Westown hotel, Ikeja, Lagos. The new package which signals a fundamental paradigm shift not only for MTN but the entire Nigerian ICT/Telco industry, is a move towards maturity in the local ICT industry to promote variety of data based products and services. Speaking at the launch, a representative from the App developer(Neo-2 Limited), Bayo Adekanmbi, said 'Better Me' is moving from Telco 1.5 to Telco 2.0 which is characterised by full scale focus on data and digital services leveraging the power of the internet. He further explained that the 'Better Me' campaign will show how ordinary Nigerians can use the power of the internet to do extraordinary things in ways that make for a better life in all sorts of ways. "As you know, Nigerians are very innovative and millions of people, especially our youths are already very familiar with the internet," he said. Continuing, "The Better Me campaign wil build on that and we will expose Nigerians from all walks of life to how they can use internet to do all sorts of things that are relevant to their peculiar circumstances and show them how various digital products and services can make their lives better." Corroborating Mr Adekanbi, MTN's GM Corporate Affairs, Funmi Onajide also said that the package will introduce Nigerians to internet content that they are unaware of such as local content websites- Pidgin websites, local language news and variety of useful information which should help people to see the positive value in the internet.
